Job Overview
As an Optical Manager at Delaney Eye Center, you will play a key role in providing exceptional eyecare services to our patients. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our optical department, manage a team of opticians, and ensure a seamless patient experience from start to finish. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving sales growth. The Optical Manager will also be responsible for maintaining inventory, providing training to team members, and enhancing the patient experience.
Optical Responsibilities
- Continually evaluate office/ optical strategies and establish goals to meet changing needs
- Manage inventory levels to ensure a well-organized and visually appealing display of eyewear that reflects current trends and styles
- Ensure efficient and accurate processing of patient orders, from order creation and billing to dispensing the completed job
- Pull and analyze weekly metrics to present to the leadership team along with possible solutions to increase revenue and productivity
- Ensure accurate billing and coding for optical services
- Collaborate with the Front Desk and Technicians to ensure seamless operations and excellent patient care
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in eyecare and present new ideas to the leadership team
Leadership Responsibilities
- Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration and open communication
- Develop comprehensive onboarding and training programs for new hires and organize ongoing training sessions to keep the team updated on new products, technologies and best practices
- Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members
- Hold weekly department meetings to discuss department metrics, share updates and gather input on operational improvements
- Address challenges within the team promptly and effectively
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in optical sales and management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Strong knowledge of eyewear products, lens options, and optical terminology
- Proficiency in using Crystal PM or similar electronic medical record systems
- Optician certification preferred
- Experience with medical billing and coding preferred
