Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and vans.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles for the transportation of goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Perform routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws while driving on public roads.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including moving heavy equipment or materials.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role involving commercial vehicle operation.
- Familiarity with moving procedures and safe loading/unloading practices.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues when necessary.
- Experience with tanker or van driving is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
