About Delaware River Solar Delaware River Solar is the leading greenfield community solar developer in New York State. Since 2016, DRS has successfully developed 95 operating projects totaling 415 MW dc.


Job Description The Project Developer will be responsible for managing multiple solar development projects from site control until receiving a building permit and ensuring all projects are prepared for sale or construction. The role requires identifying and obtaining all necessary municipal, State, Federal permits/approvals by collaborating with internal and external partners.

This role requires consistent task management, keen problem-solving skills, and a desire to take initiative. Must have reliable transportation and valid drivers license. On-site job position in Monticello, NY. M-F 8:30am-5pm, may work outside of these hours, periodic evening travel is required to town board meetings and project site meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Review federal, state and local laws and imply municipal solar development regulations to applications and submission documents.
  • Attend town board meetings and present solar project to town board, attorney and engineer/answer related questions.
  • Coordination with third-party engineers and attorneys to secure project deliverables with respect to the SEQRA process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Special Use Permits, Site Plan approval, Subdivision approval, Variances, Rezoning.
  • Post-approval filings and compliance requirements to be filed and tracked.


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of work experience in similar industry or field.
  • Knowledge or desire to learn about the solar industry and project development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Smartsheet management platform.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Basic engineering knowledge recommended but not required.
