General Description of the Position
The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Delaware State University assists in all aspects of the women's soccer program, supporting the Head Coach in recruitment, training, game preparation, and administrative duties.
Essential Functions & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Essential Functions
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
- Recruitment: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting talented student-athletes to join the women's soccer program.
- Training: Collaborate with the Head Coach to develop and implement training sessions and conditioning programs to enhance the team's performance.
- Game Preparation: Assist in scouting opponents, analyzing game footage, and developing game strategies.
- Player Development: Provide individualized coaching and feedback to student-athletes to improve their skills and performance.
- Duties: Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling, travel arrangements, budget management, and compliance with NCAA regulations.
- Academic Support: Support the academic success of student-athletes, monitoring their progress and providing resources for academic support.
- Engagement: Participate in community outreach activities, promoting the women's soccer program and fostering positive relationships with alumni, donors, and the community

- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, alumni, donors, and the community.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of NCAA regulations and university policies related to athletics

Education: Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree required; previous coaching experience preferred
