What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practical Nursing Clinical Instructor position at DELTA COLLEGE COVINGTON?
Position Description: Delta College is seeking a highly student-oriented Registered Nurse to join our team as a part-time Practical Nurse Clinical Instructor at our Covington Campus. This is an evening shift position. The PN Clinical Instructor will be responsible for teaching clinical rotations to our LPN students.
Clinicals are taught three evenings a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM and eight hours every other Saturday. Prep time is paid: One hour of prep time is paid for every four hours of teaching time.
Some of the Practical Nurse Clinical Instructor's responsibilities include:
- Supervising students during clinical rotations.
- Coordinating with clinicians at clinical sites.
- Developing and reviewing student assignments.
- Instructing students on how to perform duties at the clinical site.
- Evaluating students' work.
Requirements:
- Current and valid Louisiana state RN license.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
- At least one (1) year of Med-Surgical Staff Nurse work experience.
- Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.
The preferred candidate will have:
- Experience teaching in Nursing Education is a plus, but not required. The college trains all faculty.
- Recent Med-Surgical experience is a plus.
