Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Superintendent at Delta Construction. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of commercial projects in Phoenix, AZ. Their day-to-day tasks will include supervising and coordinating construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, managing subcontractors, and monitoring project progress.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities.
- Monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Ensure compliance with code regulations and quality standards.
- Manage project documentation via Procore; photos, daily logs, and reports.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead construction crews, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and resolve conflicts.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
Quality Control:
- Inspect workmanship, materials, and installations.
- Address any deficiencies promptly.
- Maintain high-quality standards throughout the project.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor project costs and notify the PM of any possible cost changes.
- Optimize resource allocation to minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the project manager on financial decisions.
Communication:
- Professional and clear discussions with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Provide regular project updates and address concerns.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members.
Site Coordination:
- Coordinate deliveries, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials on-site.
- Manage logistics and site access.
Qualifications:
Education:
- No degree is required. Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively.
- Proficient with technology and computers. Ideally very knowledgable.
- Proficient/familiar with; Outlook, ProCore & Microsoft Project.
Experience:
- All ranges are eligible for application as we are looking to build a team as well as bring on strong team members.
- Typically, 2 years of experience in construction, with at least 1 year as a superintendent.
- Familiarity with various construction methods, materials, and tools.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore & MS Projects).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes. Or willing to learn and get OSHA 30 certified.
