Description
Skilled position that performs diverse work, varying on a daily basis. Works with a high degree of independence. This position requires a great deal of physical movements including lifting, bending, climbing, reaching, and other unspecified physical work involving shop materials and other heavy objects. Also requires on the job training.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 70% working outdoors in extreme winter conditions. 30% indoors (the outdoor portion is in and out of vehicles and operating tow trucks and not standing in the weather 70% of the time)
- General cleanup of shop and yard
- General yard maintenance of grounds and buildings
- Responsible for yard organization and inventory
- Support of Light and Heavy Duty Mechanics
- Moving vehicles
- Loading and delivering materials and equipment
- Using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machines
- Operate forklifts, loaders, and pressure washers
- Perform oil changes
- Snow removal
- Cleaning trucks and equipment
- Change tires
- Perform asset Check-ins / Check-outs
- Retrieve broken down vehicles with a tow truck or slide back tow truck.
Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work in Arctic conditions for extended periods of time.
- Experience in auto and equipment maintenance setting
- Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening
- Must agree to random drug screening throughout employment
- Must have a valid driver's license with clean record
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks at hand
- Motivated to learn new things
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Performing simple maintenance on vehicles
- NSTC Training
- CDL
- Knowledge of towing equipment
- Loader experience and plowing snow
