Production Manager

Job Summary

The Production Manager will oversee and coordinate activities of employees and production in the manufacturing area. This individual will be responsible for maintaining quality, safety, and company guidelines established for the area.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Plant Management to determine and administer accurate schedules for the area, directing employees to meet the established production timetable.
• Direct and administer proper set-up of all machinery, prior to beginning production runs, including installing and replacing molds as production schedule dictates.
• Assure that machines are started at designated times and supplies and materials are available in order to meet production schedules.
• Trouble shoot and provide initial diagnostic assessment of production problems, machinery adjustments, and/or repairs.
• Work with Quality Assurance to establish, monitor, and maintain quality standards and assure quality production in manufacturing throughout the production area.
• Assure all new employees are trained on proper procedures and work requirements within the production area, completing performance reviews with employees in a timely manner.
• Responsible for training support and maintenance of operating system (ERP) for all operators and operations within the area.
• Work as a leader in the Team, handling whatever assignments are necessary to meet production schedule, which may include working in other areas.
• Professionally and positively communicate with employees and management, responding to the needs of employees and internal and external customers.
• Serve as a positive example to other employees through proper compliance of company policies.
• Project enthusiasm about the company through positive interactions with others, including internal and external customers, working hard to keep employee morale high and positive.
• Monitor, manage, and organize department supplies and equipment, maintaining organization and maintenance of safe, clean, and neat work areas.
• Monitor safety issues for the area, communicating safety concerns to Management, following and ensuring safe operating procedures for the area, including proper loading techniques, employee compliance of personal protective equipment requirements, clean and organized work area, incident reports completed in a timely manner, and participation/support of company safety team meetings.
