Infusion Center Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 45 am to 6 : 15 pm, and occasional Saturdays 8 : 00 am to 1 : 00 pm.
Working Schedule : Per-Diem 10 hour days, occasional Saturdays
Location : Amherst
Responsibilities :
- Administer IV and injection medications as per written / verbal MD order and infusion policy.
- Coordinates and participates in a variety of patient care activities in the examination and treatment of patients to include infusion of IV medications including chemotherapy and MRI imaging material
- Prepare IV medications inclusive of chemotherapy mixtures
- Assists MRI by providing oral sedation to patients as necessary.
- Coordinates scheduling with Infusion Secretary.
- Evaluate patient care with emphasis on patient response; monitors providers’ plan of care from patient assessments, medical record and other record information; maintains liaison with physicians and practice administration to ensure efficient and effective patient care services.
- Contributes to patient care through patient and family education, distributing resource literature and community service recommendations and referrals as needed.
- May be required to assist with bio-hazard cleanup (i.e. restroom, waiting area, exam room) following universal precaution / kits.
