About the Opportunity:
A well-established general dental practice in Colchester, Vermont, is seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join its clinical team. The practice provides a full scope of dentistry, including preventive and restorative care, dental implants, surgical procedures, and Invisalign.
This role is ideal for a senior dental assistant who is confident clinically and ready to take on a leadership-focused position. The Lead Dental Assistant will support the dentist chairside while also helping guide clinical workflow, mentor team members, and maintain high standards of patient care and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Chairside Support:
- Provide advanced chairside assistance during restorative, surgical, and implant procedures
- Assist with Invisalign and other advanced treatment protocols as trained
- Take and process dental radiographs (Vermont X-ray certification required) Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
Leadership & Team Support:
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to dental assistants
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
- Help ensure consistency with clinical protocols, infection control, and OSHA standards Assist with coordinating daily clinical flow to support efficiency and patient experience
Patient Care & Practice Support:
- Deliver exceptional patient care and build trust-based relationships
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation Collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative team to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications:
- Vermont X-ray certification required
- Previous dental assisting experience required
- Prior experience in a lead or senior dental assistant role preferred
- Experience assisting with restorative, surgical, implant, and Invisalign cases preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and patient-focused
- Strong connection to the Vermont community is valued
