- Follows proper Standard Precautions at all times while in sterilization areas
- Prevent contamination of the sterile area
- Sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment in a prompt manner
- Restock, label, and maintain inventory in the sterilization area
- Assist with turning over restorative and hygiene chairs/operatories
- Collect trays, instruments, and equipment from rooms for sterilization
- Set up trays as applicable
- Perform environmental maintenance duties such as cleaning and maintaining the biosonic, running lines, and suctions
- Verify that all sterilization equipment is functioning properly and remove any defective equipment
- Run test strip in autoclave at prescribed intervals to ensure sanitation standards are being met
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area
- Assist with maintaining established policies and procedures for sterilization and contribute to quality improvement, safety, and infection control standards
- Assist other team members with duties as needed
