The Role:
We’re hiring a passionate, experienced science educator to teach high school students in a 0.5 FTE (part-time) role. The ideal candidate brings subject mastery, creative lesson planning, and a desire to engage students in hands-on learning across subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of science classes for grades 9–12
- Design engaging, inquiry-based lessons and labs
- Create assessments and provide feedback to students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects
- Manage a positive, respectful classroom environment
- Support student life through advisory, clubs, and school events
- Participate in professional development and faculty meetings
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and team members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or a related field (required)
- 3 years of teaching experience preferred
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Comfort using educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom)
