Hours are 4:30 PM-3:00 AM
Responsibilities and Duties
· Inspect sheet metal parts for scratches, rust, metal imperfections that will affect paint quality
· Sand/grind metal parts to smooth and/or remove defects
· Spray cleaning solution and wipe down parts, as needed
· Distinguish among similar sheet metal parts and verify part numbers and quantities to be prepped/painted
· Select appropriate size/length of hooks, position hooks, hang parts on load bars
· Use safe lifting and handling techniques when moving and hanging and unhanging sheet metal parts
· Add cover plugs on threaded studs and add weights to hung parts for stability during e-coat/painting
· Identify and enter via conveyor controls the correct travel path through e-coat and paint for each load bar
· Remove parts from load bars and inspect painted surfaces for quality defects
· Notify Group Leader of paint quality issues or questions
· Place/stack painted parts on skids to prevent shifting and/or damage during movement to staging area
· General housekeeping (sweep floors in work areas, pick up and dispose of paper, etc.)
Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements
· Read and follow written and/or oral instructions
· Perform basic, but important, job tasks
· Work with minimal direct supervision to meet production and time requirements
· Ability to adapt to changes in sheet metal shapes and sizes and determine safe, effective handling
· Ability to communicate effectively and work with others to accomplish tasks
· High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Requirements*
· Stand or walk eight hours or more on a daily basis
· Lift up to 20 pounds frequently and lift 20 to 40 pounds or more occasionally
· Reach and bend frequently while performing job tasks
· Grasp, push, pull, and manipulate objects frequently with one or both hands
· Average or better spatial and depth perception to orient, position and hang parts
· Use required personal protective equipment (e.g. safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection)

Working Conditions
· Normal work schedule is 4:30 p.m. until 3:00 am, Monday through Thursday
· Additional, scheduled and required overtime hours are possible, usually on Friday
· Work space is clean and well-lit and entirely at floor level
· Work space is subject to dusts from sanding/grinding
· Work space is ventilated but subject to moderate seasonal variations in temperature
