Job Description and Duties
Under supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Office Technician (Typing) provides clerical support to the Administrators, Manager, and staff of the Financial Accountability and Information Services and Fiscal Oversight and Support offices. The person in this position must be able to:
Use computer applications to create, finalize, and/or update documents consistent with CDE approved guidelines, and in accordance with Section 508 of the federal Rehabilitation Act, including correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, organizational charts, reference and mailing & phone lists, and tracking slips. Review and edit documents for spelling, content, and grammar for compliance with the Department’s Correspondence Guide.- Perform general office duties, including maintaining a filing system, organizing and archiving materials, update various manuals and reference documents, answer telephone calls and route them to appropriate staff, and receive and distribute incoming mail.
- Prepare documents & maintain records, including ordering office supplies and subscriptions, tracking the status of purchase requisitions, stock received reports, and payment of invoices.
- Organize meetings, including reserving rooms, preparing agendas, and compiling materials.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, professionalism, initiative, judgment, discretion, ability to multi-task, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in assignments/priorities.

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
