Job Duties
The Direct Service Associate III is directly accountable to the LPN, RN I, RN II, RN MGR I, for the provision of direct care to mentally ill patients in an assigned unit, according to the philosophy and objectives of Eastern State Hospital Department of Nursing and the Hospital’s mission, goals and objectives.
This position is assigned to the Evening Shift. Employees may select Shift A or Shift B. Each option consists of a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts per week, with a requirement to work rotational weekends and holidays, as outlined below.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current Virginia licensure as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
- Valid driver’s license or must be able to obtain within 60 days of employment.
- Experience working directly with individuals with challenging mental health and behavior issues in a public, residential, or psychiatric hospital is preferred.
