You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the Radiological Waterfront Operations Manager and Radiological Refueling and Special Emphasis Manager (C105.3A/B), Radiological Monitoring Division (C105.3) of DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY.

Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own Org Code. For example: If you are within Org Code 1053 you will only be considered for positions within Org Code 1053.

Qualifications:

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience in the use of a full range of radiological control instrumentation and survey techniques in use within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program to include preparing comprehensive technical reports;
  • Experience applying all necessary requirements to provide on-scene radiological control responses for actual or potential radiological emergencies, casualties, training exercises, and proficiency drills on or off site;
  • Experience applying quantitative measurement and health physics techniques to conduct a comprehensive assessment of potential problems in Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program areas and support facilities including radioactive spills, waste disposal, effluent monitoring, storage, and handling of radioactive materials and equipment;
  • Experience preventing and controlling radiological incidents and unusual
  • events during complex operations;
  • Experience evaluating technical work instruments, assure control of radioactive material, and radioactivity to properly control personnel exposure;
  • Experience completing causal analysis of radiological incidents and unusual events to provide problem resolution.
