Job Summary
Part -time Adjunct Instructor for Fall semester 2023, 12-4 pm M,T,W,R, F to teach welding courses.

Essential Functions
Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Required Qualifications
Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification.* (IEMT degree will count), OR completion of a DOL recognized apprenticeship in steamfitters-plumbers, boilermakers, iron workers, millwrights, or sheet metal, pipefitters (with relevant material experience).
WEL 228: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or completion of a minimum OSHA 10 hour course.* OR current CWE
WEL 233: Associate degree or diploma in subject area OR current CWE
WEL 244: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification* (AWS D1.1 GMAW-S All positions open root limited thickness).
WEL 254: Associate degree or diploma in subject area OR current CWE WEL 262: Associate degree or diploma in subject area or AWS certification
(certification must include OAW Flat and Horizontal positions).
WEL 341, 342: Associate degree or diploma in Tool & Die, Machining or related area.* For ALL WEL courses: can substitute AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) AND 5 years non-teaching related work experience for education and experience mentioned above **If an instructor has a current CWEand holds a career and technical endorsement under Iowa Code, they are eligible to teach the process they passed as part of the CWE.
3 years non-teaching related work experience.
WEL 228: 1 ½ years of non-teaching related work experience WEL 233: 1 ½ years of non-teaching related work experience WEL 254 – 1 ½ years of non-teaching related work experience.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.

Teaching experience.
