What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Officer position at Desert Financial Credit Union?
The Business Development Officer is responsible for new consumer and business member acquisition to meet their defined goals. S/he provides expert business account knowledge and support to departments and assigned branches, understands and identifies new market opportunities and what it takes to realize those opportunities.
What you will do here:
Responsible for new business member acquisition as well as business service sales production including, but not limited to, sales of all business products, to include deposits, and loans with the exception of large commercial loans and treasury management products.
Develops and strengthens relationships with new and existing business members, promote credit union products and services to company’s employees.
Responsible for collecting and analyzing information regarding the member’s income, assets, investments or debts; determining which financial products best meet the member’s needs and financial circumstances; advising the member regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different financial products; and marketing, servicing or promoting the organization’s financial products.
Serves as in-house expert on business service solutions and associated procedures by possessing extensive business product knowledge. Provides procedural support for assigned branches.
Responsible for larger, more complex business accounts (up to $100k) and maintaining a broader knowledge of these relationships.
Performs market research to identify new opportunities and establish strategies for pursuing those new opportunities.
Drives outside sales strategic initiative for a retail branch region.
Supports branch efforts and encourage a greater awareness of business account sales techniques and business member needs.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred.
5 years Direct sales experience, including cold calling, presentation skills, and proven performance in closing deals required.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills required.
Demonstrated consultative-based approach to establishing needs and prospecting new business required.
Excellent communication skills required.
Strong analytical skills required.
Advanced planning and execution skills required.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
