Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Alabaster, AL
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 (Based on experience)
This is an on-site position.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
JOB DUTIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides production support to the fabrication, machining, and the assembly areas.
- Sketches rough design layouts.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design problems.
- Evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Uses computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
- Collaborates with other engineering associates in a teamwork environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
- Desired candidate should possess 2-5years of experience in the field of mechanical and machinery design
- Ability to detail shop production drawings in Autocad, Solidworks, or Autodesk Inventor (preferred) to produce mechanical machinery and components.
- Experience in Machine Design/Production drawing.
- Familiarity with OSHA codes and practices
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with engineering and shop associates.
- Overhead crane design experience (recommended)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to talk and hear frequently
- Ability to use close vision, distance vision, and adjust focus
- Ability to work in an environment with low to moderate noise levels
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
