POSITION: Project Accountant
REPORTS TO: Controller
JOB PURPOSE:
At Design and Production, Inc., you will collaborate, guide, advise, and use your Project Accounting skills to support Project Management executing some of the most visited and iconic museums in the US.
This is an integral role providing project accounting support to project managers and teams with shared financial and administrative functions of the project from beginning to end.

D and P is one of the leading providers of exhibit project management, production and technology services to museums, educations and institutions. With over 70 years of experience in the local community, D&P is now part of the global museum business of Chargeurs, a public company based in Paris, France.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for full-cycle accounting functions associated with projects, including the completion, review, reconciliation, tracking, invoice processing, records maintenance. Role involves day-to-day administrative support.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with project managers to assist with any accounting needs.
- Customer Service Excellence: Positive, timely, and professional interactions.
- Develop relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors. Respond to accounting requests.
- Project lifecycle: setup and budgeting: Review owner contract, change orders and cost estimates.
- Project invoicing: (AIA format) to owners by contractual deadline; coordinate with PM and owner representative.
- Subcontractor management: Process invoices and payments per contractual agreement
- Create and maintain project and project-related records, including change orders in the accounting system.
- Accurately record/maintain subcontractor pay applications, change orders, certificate of insurance, payments, lien releases
- Process vendor invoices accurately and within assigned timelines
- Monthly project reporting and review with project managers and Controller
- Prepare monthly analysis in compliance with ASC 606 and IFRS 15 and assists with month end closing.
- Close out project accounts upon project completion
- Compile required information and support for internal and external audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A solution- and customer-focused attitude is required.
- Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across the organization.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction accounting (preferred).
- Proficiency in an electronic accounting system.
- Proven ability to use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook to professionally and effectively communicate internally and externally; examples: pivot tables and vlookup
- Team player with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others and independently.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to switch from task to task seamlessly.
- Experience with StarBuilder, Sage 300, and Procore is a plus.
