Cell Site Civil Technician

Job Summary
The Cell Site Civil Technician assists the Crew Lead or Foreman in installing, maintaining, and repairing wireless equipment, electrical components, and generator projects at commercial sites. The technician follows safety standards, site codes, and federal and state compliance regulations, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, wireless equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning wireless equipment, components, and apparatus using test equipment and tools.
- Terminate wires to circuit breakers, PPC cabinets, Automatic Transfer Switches, Generators, and other electrical components of a wireless site.
- Inspect electrical wiring and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Facility Construction Documents (FCDs).
- Assist with planning, layout, and installation of wireless equipment according to FCDs and NEC regulations.
- Mentor and train less experienced team members in the installation and repair of wireless equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and site plans to ensure correct installation.
- Operate power construction equipment, measuring devices, and testing equipment, including meggers, ohmmeters, and voltage testers.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops to install, maintain, or repair wireless equipment.
- Construct and fabricate parts as needed using hand tools and specifications.
Operational Duties
- Review material needs and tool requirements for the project daily.
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and pending work.
- Take responsibility for the proper use, installation, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Ensure the work area is secure and properly locked at the end of each workday.
- Arrive early and ready to work for the entire shift while wearing PPE.
- Attend and contribute to job site briefings, safety meetings, and Tool Box Talks.
- Participate in the company mentorship program to support career growth.
Physical Requirements
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches, installing conduit underground and overhead, and moving heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
- Climb and work at heights using ladders and scaffolding.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in wireless site equipment installation or electrical work preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with NEC codes and FCDs.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
