We're interviewing now at our Redlands, CA facility! Looking for a client-focused Substance Abuse Counselor, who has knowledge of mental health and substance abuse clientele!
We are seeking to fill a Full Time Substance Abuse Counselor position
General Summary:
The Substance Abuse Counselor position is responsible for assisting and supporting residents through the entire treatment experience from admission to discharge. The Counselor monitors the course of treatment in a proactive manner to minimize the barriers that might compromise the treatment and recovery processes. The Counselor is responsible for contributing insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process, through running groups and individual assessments. The Counselor orientates each resident to the program rules, expectations, intent, and routine of the daily treatment schedule. The counselor also assists the client with creating an individualized treatment plan that will outline the client’s goals and treatment objectives.
Responsibilities:
· Completion of all duties and/or documentation within the guidelines of company and ADP standards
· Able to present didactic/psychoeducational groups and workshops
· Provide weekly individual sessions
· Contributes to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan through participation in treatment planning meetings and process
· Contacts residents’ family members to set appointments or educate the family on the residents’ current status and/or progress
· Responsible for reading the shift log at beginning of shift and documenting all necessary information at the end of the shift
· Documentation of all activities and daily progress of client according to charting standards within a specific timeframe
· Crisis Intervention
· Assist, teach and/or supervise clients with general program activities
· Conduct audits to ensure that compliance procedures are being followed
· Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria
· Experience in filing out/completing UR forms
Requirements:
· Certified Substance Abuse Counselor or AMFT/ACSW license
· 2 Years of experience
· CPR & First Aid certification
· Valid California Driver's License
· Must be able to pass Background Check
· Negative TB Test
· Must understand therapeutic process, confidentiality laws, professional ethics, fundamentals of addiction, and mental health disabilities and treatment
· Must be willing to work weekends and holidays if needed
