Assemble a variety of highly technical gas and flame detection equipment in a timely manner, to meet customer demands, while maintaining the highest quality at a minimal cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials, ECO’s and Assembly Processes.
- Assemble electrical/mechanical parts into finished products using different types of tools and assembly process equipment.
- Knowledge and use of a variety of adhesives and chemicals used in the assembly process.
- Use of computer workstations for record-keeping and testing purposes.
- Perform electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment.
- Become cross-trained on functions and products within the department.
- Perform quality control inspection functions as part of an ongoing effort to insure the highest quality products are being shipped to our customers.
- Adaptability towards a variety of manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a consistent basis.
- Maintain a neat work area following 5S guidelines.
- Follow Carrier Excellence & EH&S practices according to Det-Tronics/Carrier policy.
- Actively participate in safety, quality and productivity improvement activities.
- Complete other tasks as assigned. Including temporary re-assignment to other work areas as needed.
Preferred Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Must be able to effectively speak, read, and write in English.
- Able to read and understand English prints, drawings, BOM’s, and process instructions.
- Good dexterity with small hand tools and a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
- Cannot be color-blind.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions safely and work within established company guidelines
