Key Responsibilities
- Obtaining and recording patient medical history
- Performing physical examinations
- Ordering, evaluating, and monitoring medical and laboratory diagnostic tests and treatment plans
- Performing routine invasive procedures; performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Educating and counseling patients and family members on condition, desired results of treatment plans, expectations during illness and recovery, and other related areas
- Participating in the management of patient care, determining need for consultation to ensure continuity and quality of care
Requirements
- Registered nurse licensure to practice in the state of Michigan
- State of Michigan Nurse Specialty Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner training program
- Two years clinical experience as a professional nurse
- National certification in advanced practice nursing specialty
