NURSE PRACTITIONER
Detyens Medical Center is a part of Detyens Shipyard, Inc and provides primary health care for employees and their families. The Nurse Practitioner is a significant part of the team including physicians, pharmacy staff and direct care staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient records.
- Reviews test results, diagnosis, and prognoses with patients.
- Advises patients regarding prescriptions and treatment plans.
- Follows all federal, state. nursing guidelines, regulations, and standards including licensure in South Carolina.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, including x-rays, blood work, and scans.
- Refers patients to specialists if necessary and reviews medical records and reports.
- Utilizes the clinics Electronic Health Record (EHR) software, Practice Fusion.
- Examines patients, including discussing medical history and symptoms and preforming physicals.
- Able to manage the full range of primary care.
- Other duties and skills as may be required in providing primary care.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Communicates effectively in English, ability to speak Spanish also is preferred.
- Collaborates with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals.
- Problem-solves well independently and as part of a team.
- Develops strong relationships with patients and their families.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure in South Carolina.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred.
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from and accredited agency is preferred.
- Master's in Nursing minimum
- Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physicians practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
