Family Nurse Practitioner

Searching for a family or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner licensed to work in Ohio with at least one year of working NP experience in a primary care setting or hospital medicine to provide on-site primary care services on a part-time basis.

Nurse Practitioner Duties

• Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses
• Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases & prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery as training & competency allows
• Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions & diagnoses new conditions
• Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution & reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly
• Orders & reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, & other diagnostic testing as appropriate
• With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification & requests for non-formulary medications as necessary
• Performs routine & emergency medical care of patients as scheduled
• Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO
• Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $68.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
