Overview :
Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management & Marketing, the Senior Category Manager will oversee the mini-excavator, compact track loader, dozer, and attachments product portfolio for DEVELON in North America. This pivotal role will involve working across functions to develop and deliver product marketing plans, assist with product portfolio management, and engage in promotion activities related to construction machinery products. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the construction machinery sector, either with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or a dealer.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Portfolio Management
- Fully responsible for the P&L of the category.
- Set 12-month strategy and tactical plans to enable field to execute with dealers and end users, working off the company's long term strategic plan.
- Gather data and input on product attributes, needs, problems, competitor offerings, end-user trends and turn into actionable insight.
- Communicate and work with Global Product Management, R&D, and factory teams to address product issues.
- Work with other functions to set product pricing and periodically adjust pricing and discount strategies as appropriate.
- Develop recommendations on optimizing product mix.
- Establish product price points and discount levels.
- Manage category product roadmap for the region to include new product introductions, product phase-outs, and model year introductions.
- Analyze and establish action plans to grow and / or improve product performance in specific geographies, dealers, and segments.
