Alcohol and Drug Trainee/ Peer Recovery Specialist

Devine Interventions is a client-centered outpatient mental health clinic located in Berwyn Heights, Maryland. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct screenings and comprehensive assessments for individuals seeking services
• Review clinical records and background information to understand clients’ treatment histories and life experiences
• Collaborate with internal and external providers when appropriate and authorized
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on building healthy coping strategies for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
• Co-create and regularly update individualized treatment and recovery plans with each client to guide their therapeutic journey
• Monitor, document, and evaluate client progress toward treatment goals in alignment with agency and regulatory standards
• Provide case management, referrals, and advocacy to support sustained recovery
• Offer psychoeducational resources and therapeutic tools tailored to each client’s needs
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and state/federal regulations
• Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development, including evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care
• Support program quality through contributions to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts
• Refer clients and families to community resources as needed for additional support

Qualifications:

• Active Maryland Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) certification (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals experiencing substance use or co-occurring disorders
• Familiarity with behavioral health treatment models, recovery-oriented care, and documentation best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage clients using culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
• Eagerness to grow professionally, receive feedback, and contribute to a collaborative team environment
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic clinical setting
• Passion for the mission of Devine Interventions and a sincere desire to support individuals on their recovery journey
