Job Description

Dewberry, a growing A&E service company, is looking for a Project Accountant II to join its Corporate Accounting team in Fairfax, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and set up projects: Analyze project contracts and establish project accounts based on project type (CPFF, T&M, Lump Sum, etc.).
  • Set up billing rate tables: Create and maintain tables for various billing rates used in project invoices.
  • Generate invoices and support billing submittal: Prepare invoices, gather supporting documentation, and submit them through online client portals.
  • Process transfers: Manage transfers of labor and other direct costs between projects.
  • Review and process credit memos: Analyze and process credit memos issued by vendors.
  • Perform project closeout: Finalize project accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable team: Resolve cash receipt issues and identify any unidentified cash receipts.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in dealing with Federal and Commercial contracts, including billing experience with Lumpsum, Time & Material, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, and Units billing basis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as JD Edwards and DELTEK VantagePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to local offices.
