Dewberry is seeking a Roadway Engineer in our Tampa, FL office to grow and strengthen our transportation design practice. Responsibilities
- Develop roadway geometrics and prepare detailed plans for the construction of safe and efficient roadways and highways based on applicable design criteria and specifications
- Prepare engineering reports and contract documents
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of work performed by EIT’s and Designers and serve as Deputy Project Manager on assigned projects
- Potentially serve as the Engineer-of-Record on minor projects
- Provide engineering support for projects in construction
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, subconsultants, and clients
- Develop and present design solutions during internal project meetings and participate in external meetings with clients
- Assist with the development of marketing and project pursuit materials
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 4 years of progressive experience working on FDOT or similar public agency projects
- FL PE license or ability to obtain in one year.
- A strong background in roadway design, preferably in Florida
- Proficiency with Microstation Open Roads Designer
- Ability to manage multiple projects and complete work in a timely fashion to meet project schedules
- Strong desire to be a key contributor in an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals
