What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mutual Fund Accountant position at Dexian?
The Fund Accounting Conversion Team is responsible for converting outside clients onto internal platforms and designing/implementing processes and controls in support of all daily production requirements. As part of this effort the team works to establish and maintain fund and account profiles in accounting system, based on a combination of client instructions, fund prospectus information and legacy administration books and records. The team works directly with the client, client service representatives, global hubs/utility groups and Boston Operations teams to manage the overall conversion of daily fund accounting services within specified timeframes all the while, maintaining a high degree of client satisfaction. Process fund events; Client Conversions, Fund Launches, Closures, Mergers, In-Kinds and Asset Transitions and complete standard reconciliations. Support team during conversions to include planning and testing prior to event.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-6 years of experience in Fund Accounting Operations
- Strong knowledge of Mutual Fund Accounting to include General Ledge accounting (Trial Balance, Sub Ledgers, Balance sheet vs. Income statement)
- Ability to process and determine downstream impacts of complex fund events (Client Conversions, Fund Launches, Closures, Mergers, In-Kinds and Asset Transitions)
- Proven reconciliation skills – ability to create ad-hoc reconciliations of external and internal Trial Balances, General Ledgers, Cash/Assets, etc.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLookUp, Macros)
- Bachelor degree required, preference is Finance, Accounting or Economics
