What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at DFCU Financial?
The Opportunity: DFCU Financial is looking for a Credit Analyst to join the team! In this role, qualified candidates will be responsible to perform all duties related to underwriting a loan request, whether it is a new loan or a periodic review. Underwriting entails understanding of business financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows. A working knowledge of commercial loan types, collateral, structures, and practices is needed as well. Assist the Loan Officers with collection of financial information for new loans and annual requirements. Underwrite loan applications to render decisions and communicate required information to appropriate individuals. Serve as a resource for members and branch personnel on underwriting and compliance questions.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare loan approvals that contain complete and accurate analysis, which includes highlighting a borrower's strengths and weaknesses to enable an approver to make an informed credit decision.
Spread and analyze financial statements; analysis to include, but not limited to, global cash flow analysis, trend analysis, collateral valuation, and guarantor analysis.
Assist in the portfolio monitoring process by preparing periodic relationship reviews and testing financial covenants.
Meet expected service levels related to recommended loan decision and due diligence requirements.
Collect application and due diligence information from the Loan Officers.
Respond to business lending phone inquiries from internal departments.
Contribute to the achievement of the Corporate Banking team goals as it relates to revenue growth, portfolio growth, asset quality and compliance.
Maintain knowledge of DFCU policies and procedures.
Maintain knowledge of Business Compliance Regulations.
Maintain loan files in OnBase.
Assist management as required.
What You’ll Need:
Four-year degree, accounting or finance preferred, or equivalent related experience.
Completion of three college-level accounting or finance courses.
A minimum of five to ten years commercial lending or credit experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability for high attention to detail.
Computer literate.
Demonstrated financial institution product and service knowledge.
Consistent positive, cooperative, self -motivated, courteous, and professional attitude.
Ability to verbally communicate appropriately with others, and appropriately respond to a supervisor.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
