Job Overview
Under general supervision of the Ground Transportation Shift Supervisor, monitors the activity of commercial ground transportation operators at airport passenger loading areas and administers transportation rules and regulations; provides customers with information and assists customers reporting problems with commercial operators.
What you will be doing:
- Monitors the activity of ground transportation operations to ensure compliance with Code of Rules and Regulations and writes reports of noncompliance.
- Monitors assigned ground transportation loading area to identify activity levels and plan for anticipated service needs.
- Uses a two-way radio or a telephone to verify the arrival of assigned commercial operators at assigned passenger loading areas and communicate service needs to Ground Transportation Dispatcher.
- Responds to requests for information from patrons and the public; provides complaint forms and assists customers in their completion; forwards complaints to supervisor to take appropriate action.. Inspects dispatch tickets, driver’s permit and driver manifests to verify operators are reporting to assigned locations; assists the Ground Transportation Dispatcher in reassigning commercial operators to different loading areas.
- Greets passengers and observes passenger-loading areas to monitor commercial operators loading passengers and baggage into vehicles.
- Keeps work area clean and ensures podiums are stocked with needed supplies.
- Reports illegal Ground Transportation activity or emergency situations to DPS by two-way radio or telephone.
- Testifies at Ground Transportation appeal hearings, parking adjudication hearings, and in municipal court to provide case-related information.
- Distributes guides to passengers.
- Tracks the number of cabs at the stand.
- Assists in the evacuation of the terminal area when necessary.
What you need:
- One (1) year customer service experience.
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
- This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport’s Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
