Job Description:
Diamond Braces owns over 60 orthodontic practices providing affordable and accessible orthodontic care focused on providing amazing customer service.
The Financial Controller will report to the C-Suite of Diamond Braces and oversea a team of 4 to 5 individuals. This role will oversee all Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll. The ideal candidate will possess previous Controller experience in healthcare setting leading a hyper-growth organization focused on establishing and improving processes, building out financial reporting & analysis capabilities and providing leadership to the finance team members. The candidate must be willing to roll-up their sleeves and should anticipate being on-site in Englewood, NJ several days per week once up to speed but initially most of their time to accelerate their understanding of the business while developing rapport throughout the organization.
- Perform consolidation of 60 locations including preparation of financial statements in support of income tax filings.
- Prepare financial reports for internal reporting including allocation of expenses for management reporting purposes.
- Oversee the accounting, accounts payable and payroll functions. Lead the month end close, working with the team to refine the calendar, policies and procedures.
- Perform all cash and treasury management including building out a cash flow forecast and driving investment decisions.
- Lead, mentor and inspire staff including development of a training program.
- Develop financial reporting & analysis function including key performance indicators to support strategic decisions. Serve as a trusted and consultative Advisor to the Owner.
- Support special projects such as, for example, conversion from cash basis to accrual basis of accounting, implementing internal controls, upgrading the accounting software, implementing expense management and accounts payable automation tools.
- Continuously evaluate existing processes/procedures and controls to identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvement.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Excel and Word, required
- Proficient in QuickBooks, preferred.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build productive working relationships.
- Possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience serving in a “hands-on” Controller or similar capacity, required
- Prior industry experience, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
- CPA or MBA, preferred
