Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate Direct Support Professionals willing to become a part of our amazing team and make a difference in the lives of people with different abilities in the Warren area. The current open position is awake night shift. The Direct Support Professionals are responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, providing transportation, and participating in recreational activities.
The successful candidates must:
- be able to stay awake throuhout the whole duration of the shift
- have open availability for up to 12-hour shifts, including weekends
- have a reliable vehicle
- have strong communication and problem-solving skills
- be able to work collaboratively with other team members
- have a minimum of a 2-years of experience as a direct support professional or in a similar role
- have the ability to multitask
- promote integrity, honesty, compassion, and respect.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a direct support professional or in a similar role
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Can push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs
- Certification in Medication Administration 1 (preferred)
- First AID/CPR (preferred)
What will you do?
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Be a role model, promote positive teamwork, and assist with staff development/training as assigned
- Supervise and assist individuals in all aspects of his/her life
- Complete various household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Provide personal care assistance and medication administration
