Press Feeder

The Press Feeder is responsible for working with Press Operator to achieve the completion of each printing job assigned. The Feeder will prepare the plates, load the paper to feed through the printing press machine and ensure that the machine is ready for a new run. While the press machine is running, the Press Feeder will ensure the paper is feeding correctly and will make any necessary adjustments to have a smooth print run.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Prepare the plates by punching holes on front and placing them inside the designated color.
• Assists Press Operator in removing and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
• Load skid of unprinted sheets of paper on feed device of sheet-fed press, using the pallet jack
• Inspect materials and products for defects, and to ensure it meets job specifications.
• Push dual control buttons and move controls to start, stop, or adjust machinery and equipment.
• Load printed side of the job to the flipping machine and prepare to load on the press machine.
• Identify and mark materials, products, and samples, following instructions.
• Remove materials and products from machines and equipment, and place them for staging position for bindery department.
• Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
• Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

SHIFT

Second Shift:

Monday - Friday 1:30PM to 10:00PM

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Understand the printing process of the press machine.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, speak & understand English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Press Operator.
• Ability to use hand/power tools and safe use of them.
• Ability to multi task with changing priorities.
• Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions.

Working Conditions:

The Press Feeder position will work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with loud noises from machines and varying temperatures depending on weather.

Physical Requirements:

The Press Feeder position will have the following physical requirements:

· Standing/Walking (at least 75% of shift)

· Lifting/Pushing/Pulling up to 50 lb. (at least 50% of shift)

· Bending/Twisting/Squatting (at least 50% of shift

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
