Job Description
The Warranty Cancellations Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks for the company, including processing of extended warranty and insurance cancelations, posting of general ledger entries, answering customer and vendor inquiries, and maintaining accurate files.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- To model by example the Company’s mission statement by being an empowered, passionate and positive associate who provides exceptional personalized service to the Company’s guests and community. To live by the Standards of Excellence set forth by Dimmitt Automotive Group.
- Processing of all cancellations of extended warranty and insurance policies for 4 stores.
- Ensuring that all required documents are collected for the cancellation process.
- Accurate calculation and processing of all refunds.
- Accurate, and timely, posting of all general ledger entries.
- Maintaining clean accounting schedules.
- Answer all customer and vendor inquiries.
- Maintain accurate files for all companies.
- Communicate with managers regarding financial impacts.
- Other duties as needed within the Accounting Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Create and maintain a safe work environment by abiding to and enforcing all safety regulations and practices found in the Company’s Safety Program.
- Promote a work environment where everyone is treated with dignity, compassion and respect.
- Prior automotive dealership experience a plus
- Must be detailed oriented and possess good organizational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Competent with computers, spreadsheets, and a calculator; willing to learn onsite system
- CDK competence a plus
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Organize reports and reconciliations
- Professional communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 1-3 years general accounting experience
