What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Clerk position at directpathrecruitingservices?
Performs a variety of routine shipping and receiving tasks. Compares identifying information onincoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents.
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip withpurchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments fromcustomers.
2. Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is received.
3. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifiessupervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
4. Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures foraccepted items.
5. May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file receiving records.
6. May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies andequipment; may operate shrinkwrap machine; may operate company vehicle to delivershipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and receiving area.
7. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous qualityimprovement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotescontinuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED; Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in shipping/receivingenvironment, Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
