Description
Role: To lead, teach, inspire and support participating artists of all abilities. Responsibilities include working in the Clayworks artist's studios in both McPherson and Hutchinson, as well as assisting with daily living and interpersonal skills. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, working Monday through Friday.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement Person Centered Support Plans for assigned individuals.
- Lead and assist with creative opportunities at The Clayworks.
- Administer medication and treatments.
- Timely completion of internal documentation.
- Routinely communicate and collaborate with all relevant DSGP team members to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of those we serve.
- Attend all meetings as assigned and required.
- If approved as a driver of company vehicles, employee may engage in transportation of Clayworks artists.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Prior direct-care experience preferred, but not required. The nature of this position requires a demonstrable history of creativity, artistic ability and experience working with multiple artistic media.
Education: High School diploma/equivalent preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with both DSGP team members and those we serve. Compassion, collaboration and patience are imperative.
Other Skills: Basic mathematical, grammar and computer skills preferred. Valid drivers license preferred.
Physical/Environmental: Must be able to lift, push and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push wheelchairs, and provide physical intervention on a regular basis. Noise level may vary, depending upon duties assigned.
Due to the potential intimate nature of care and physical proximity involved with some of those receiving HCBS funded I/DD services through Disability Supports, and in order to promote a safe work environment for both the caregiver and those for whom we care, you may, from time-to-time, be required to wear PPE, (Personal Protective Equipment). If PPE is required, Disability Supports will provide it.
