Position Overview
The Customer Relationship Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring service excellence, and supporting account management. This person is the client’s go-to contact for everyday inquiries, policy updates, and proactive communication—championing responsiveness, clarity, and confidence. They will be a key part of the staff of Distinction Risk Solutions in supporting customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Key agency brand builder as primary service contact for clients and prospects
- Respond promptly to policy-related questions, billing communications, certificates of insurance, and endorsement requests
- Facilitate billing set up and communications with clients as necessary
- Assist producers and account managers with client onboarding and retention efforts
- Coordinate renewal communications, gather application information, and track submissions
- Review insurance company and client documents for compliance and accuracy
- Maintain CRM records, follow-up tasks, and policy timelines while maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and transactions
- Collaborate with Distinction Risk Solutions’ team members to improve customer experience and internal workflows
- Knowledgeable about and ensure compliance with state and federal insurance regulations
- Identify upsell opportunities and help clients understand coverage enhancements
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in insurance, customer service, or account coordination preferred
- Knowledge of Insurance is a plus
- Associates or 4-year degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of
- Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented self-starter and ability to work independently
- Comfortable with learning and utilizing different operating and communication software systems (MS Office, Agency Management Systems, Customer Relationship Systems)
- Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance
- Customer-first attitude with problem-solving mindset
