What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Coordinator position at Distribution Management?
carrier-related Working from DM’s Carlisle, PA distribution center, the Transportation Coordinator will:
- Work closely with LTL/TL staff to generate documents and coordinate shipping
- Review orders to ensure Critical Delivery Information (CDI) has been captured prior to dispatch to DC/carrier.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions via shipment consolidation, “flock” and adherence of “best practices” for freight preparation.
- Inspect outbound shipments (parcel/freight) to ensure carrier compliance
- Rate shipments and generate shipping documents via Pipeline (when applicable)
- Provide needed support regarding and/or related to retailer routing (when applicable)
- Act as on-site support in carrier related changes (onboard/decommission)
- Management of transportation TICKets assigned from Transportation (HQ)
- Prepare and archive carrier control forms (when applicable)
- Perform daily dock sweeps (begin & end of shift)
- Monitor and Communicate service issues for Service Level reporting (freight delays, non-pick-ups, exceptions)
- Coordinate carrier pick-up & deliveries
- Build working relationships with carrier drivers & dispatch teams
- Identify and develop continuous improvement techniques and initiatives
- Use various software tools to assist job functions
minimum requirements
- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills

- Experience in Microsoft Office products
- Non-Remote Position
preferred qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, or transportation industry experience
- Strong Excel and Outlook skills

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
