QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans for school or community-based programs.

Bachelor’s Degree or Valid Kentucky Teaching certification required.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Proven expertise in a specific field relevant to the needs of the school district (e.g., curriculum design, instructional coaching, data analytics, special education, student mental health, program building, extracurriculars and technology integration, etc.).

Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations based on research and evidence.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of current educational practices, trends, and regulations relevant to the area of expertise.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Consultant is a temporary, project-based role designed to provide expert support to the school district in various specialized areas. This position is intended to assist with specific programs, initiatives, or challenges that require expertise outside the regular scope of district staff. Consultants may be engaged to support curricular development, operational improvements, student support services, administrative processes, or other areas where specialized knowledge and skills will benefit the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the district.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with district leadership and other stakeholders to evaluate, design, implement, or improve programs and services.

Gather feedback from students, parents, staff, and community members to identify areas of improvement.

Provide regular progress updates and final reports as needed, depending on the scope of the project.

Adhere to the district’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality and conflict of interest guidelines.

Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with district policies, regulations, and applicable laws. 

Complying with legal and ethical guidelines relevant to the project area (e.g., student safety, accessibility requirements, contract regulations, etc.).

Adhere to budgetary constraints, timelines, and district standards.

Collect feedback from stakeholders and use it to refine strategies and deliverables.

Keep up-to-date with trends, research, and developments in the area of expertise to bring innovative solutions to the district.

Adjust strategies or approaches based on evolving needs, priorities, or challenges.

Offer creative and practical solutions to obstacles encountered during the course of the project.

Respond to unforeseen changes in scope, timeline, or resource availability in a timely and efficient manner.

Communicate regularly and professionally, providing updates, seeking feedback, and ensuring alignment with district priorities.

Identify and address any concerns or roadblocks in collaboration with relevant parties.

Facilitate meetings or discussions to gather input and build consensus as necessary.

Use best practices, industry standards, and research to inform recommendations and strategies.

Provide training, resources, or guidance to district staff as needed.

Clearly document work completed (e.g., reports, presentations, plans).

Provide measurable outcomes or milestones to demonstrate progress and success.

Have final deliverables that meet the needs of stakeholders and are submitted within the agreed-upon timeframe.

Present findings to district leadership and assist in the implementation of approved recommendations, as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Demonstrating deep understanding of the specific area of expertise.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed while standing, sitting and walking. requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.  

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.  

Ability to walk, stand, or move between different locations on school grounds for evaluations.

Ability to travel between multiple school sites or community locations, requiring a valid driver’s license and use of personal or district vehicles.

This position may require travel between school sites or remote work, depending on project needs.
