Staff Accountant

Divergent has invented a complete manufacturing solution to address system level challenges.  The Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) is a complete software hardware solution designed to replace traditional vehicle manufacturing.  To make the complex simple, it is a complete modular digital factory for complex structures. Given a set of digital requirements as input, the machine automatically computationally engineers, additively manufactures, and assembles any complex structure.  The system is able to move seamlessly between manufacturing different vehicle models.

Job Description

·         Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closes. Perform general accounting support functions including processing various general ledger transactions and preparing reconciliations.

·         Perform weekly general ledger review to identify and reclass any misclassifications, collaborating with the AP team to investigate and resolve any issues.

·         Monitor and maintain weekly cash and credit card reconciliation process.

·         Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.

·         Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

·         Support federal and state tax filings and other financial compliance as directed.

·         Recommend process improvements and develop accounting procedures in collaboration with management.

·         Ad-hoc project support

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

·         At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance

·         Experience in manufacturing preferred, but not required

Skills:

Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills

Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as in a small team setting

Strong analytical skills

Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in working with large amounts of data

Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles  

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
