Electrical Engineer (Mid-Level)

Job Description

DSG is seeking Mid-Level Electrical Engineers to join our dynamic team supporting large-scale projects. If you have a passion for electrical design and construction, this is your opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while advancing your career.\

Key Responsibilities

• Identify eligible scopes of work for applicant projects and estimate associated costs.
• Evaluate damaged public facilities and infrastructure, recommending repair or replacement methods aligned with FEMA laws, regulations, and policies.
• Prepare repair or replacement cost estimates for large projects using industry standards and cost estimating software (e.g., FEMA’s Cost Estimating Format).
• Manage site inspection assignments via Grants Manager.
• Coordinate logistics for site inspections, ensuring all participants and necessary documentation are prepared.
• Conduct site inspections, discuss repair methods with applicants, and document findings with photos.
• Complete and submit Site Inspection Reports (SIR) and obtain applicant signatures.
• Input data into Grants Manager and review damage descriptions and dimensions (DDD).
• Collaborate with the Program Delivery Manager (PDMG) to finalize project deliverables.
• For senior-level specialists: Oversee mid-level specialists and manage complex projects as needed.
  
  

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration, OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
  
  

Required Experience:

• Interior building wiring and electrical design.
• Design and construction of electrical systems for schools, prisons, utilities, and other large commercial facilities.
  
  

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with PA eligibility, laws, regulations, and policies.
• Experience in cost estimate development and preparing Cost Estimating Format (CEF) for large projects.
• Proficiency in cost estimating tools such as RS Means, FEMA's Cost Estimating Format, State/Local Cost Codes, and other relevant databases.
