We are seeking a CQA (Construction Quality Assurance) Field Technician to join our team. The CQA Field Technician will be responsible for monitoring and documenting construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering plans, and regulatory requirements. This role involves field inspections, material testing, and reporting to ensure quality and environmental standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials, including soils, concrete, and geosynthetics.
- Document observations, test results, and non-compliance issues in detailed reports.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality concerns.
- Ensure proper installation and placement of geosynthetics, liners, and other construction materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate field testing equipment and ensure proper calibration.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for quality assurance documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is a plus).
- Prior experience in construction quality assurance, materials testing, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications such as ACI (American Concrete Institute), NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies), or CQA certification is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
- Proficiency in using field testing equipment and software for reporting.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role requiring travel to construction sites.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction equipment, and environmental factors.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
