Job Summary: The Safety Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures in our automotive manufacturing facilities. - Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Lead the investigation of accidents and incidents, analyzing root causes and recommending preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety refresher courses.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety, including leading safety meetings and developing safety awareness campaigns.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, including incident rates, near-misses, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Ensure proper maintenance and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to automotive safety and ensure the company’s practices remain up-to-date.
- Manage safety documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), safety plans, and regulatory reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, automotive safety standards, and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address safety issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
