ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Our exceptional engineers and scientists collaborate to develop the world’s most powerful radar transmitters, pulsed power units for state-of-the-art processing in food, energy, and wastewater, and advanced R&D for national laboratories.
DTI seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join its fast-growing, high-technology business. Our work involves the design, fabrication, construction, installation and testing of specialized, high-power electrical equipment for industrial and government applications. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to work in a challenging, innovative technical organization based in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Build assemblies, wire and solder components using assembly drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and other documentation as required
- Learn and understand basic assembly sequences and standards, discuss potential technical issues with supervisors
- Flexibility in different jobs having different sets of standards
- Rework, often during assembly, due to changing specifications and requirements
- Light fabrication using power tools
Requirements:
- High School graduate, technical high school preferred
- Up to five years’ related work experience
- Practical experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and sketches
- Experience with electrical wire harness, soldering and mechanical assembly
- Occasional lifting and/or moving assemblies of 20-40 pounds from carts into racks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to interact effectively with scientists, engineers, draftspersons and machinists
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
- U.S. Citizen
Other:
- Knowledge of ACAD, PADS logic and layout a plus

- Salary commensurate with experience
