Full Time Mechanic

                                          POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:    Full Time Mechanic

F.L.S.A.                    Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:                                         

• CDL drivers license required.
• Demonstrates aptitude and competence for automotive, tractor, turf equipment repair, welding and mechanical problem solving. 
• A minimum five (5) years experience and/or vocational courses and related certification preferred. 
• Must have excellent communication skills, be team oriented; neat in appearance, dependable, and punctual; helpful and pleasant in dealing with people. 
• Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly and to turn, twist, and bend as required to operate equipment and perform duties.

REPORT TO:        Transportation Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Twelve-month

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operates all District equipment in a safe manner.

2. Repairs of a wide range of District equipment:  buses, cars, trucks, trailers, snow removal apparatus and tools, turf machinery, and miscellaneous school property.

3. Establishes an efficient, effective system of routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment.

4. Maintains safe and clean work environment, including acceptable storage methods for combustibles.

6. Functions as a team player, works on other duties as assigned.
