DMG Worldwide Inc. is an Accounting firm currently seeking a highly motivated Tax Preparer who is an Enrolled Agent to manage prepare individual and business tax returns, advise tax clients, and assist tax clients with tax mediation and negotiations.

DMG Worldwide is an Accounting firm that specializes in helping Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs with their Accounting and cash flow management needs. DMG provides businesses professional solutions such as accounting and bookkeeping, tax preparation & planning, Tax Resolution, Fractional CFO and Advisory services.

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:

As a Tax Preparer/Enrolled Agent, you will meet with clients to assess their tax needs, prepare their returns, communicate with the clients regarding their returns and assist clients in the tax mediation process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interview clients to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
  • Interview clients to gather financial information.
  • Use all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to keep clients' taxes to a minimum.
  • Calculate tax information.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small businesses.
  • Compute taxes owed or overpaid, and complete entries on forms, following tax form instructions and tax tables.
  • Furnish taxpayers with sufficient information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion
  • Advise others on financial matters.
  • Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
  • Verify accuracy of records.
  • Consult tax law handbooks or bulletins to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns.
  • Update professional knowledge.
  • Calculate form preparation fees according to return complexity and processing time required.
  • Answer questions and provide future tax planning to clients.
  • Develop financial plans for clients as needed.
  • Correspond with customers to answer questions or resolve complaints.
  • Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
  • Examine financial records.
  • Maintain and manage fixed asset schedules.
  • Explain federal and state tax laws to individuals and companies.
  • Explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
  • Assist clients in navigating tax mediation scenarios.
  • Communicate with Federal, state and local tax agencies to help clients with tax problems.
  • Submit offer in compromise and requests for tax abatement.

Skills Required and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Must be an active Enrolled Agent with the IRS.
  • 3 years of Tax experience required.
  • 3 years of QuickBooks Online preferred.
  • 2 years ProSeries Profession preferred.
  • Experience preparing business taxes including 1120, 1120S, 1065.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven work experience as a tax preparer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers).
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Knowledge of Fixed asset management and depreciation.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required.
  • Experience with ProSeries and PitBull Tax software a major Plus.

Compensation:
  • Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year.
  • Bonus pay.
