Job Title:  Inventory Manager

Reports To: Vice President – Sales Operations

Department: Sales, Exempt

Location: Riverview

                                                                                                

Summary of Primary Functions:  

This position is responsible for managing all whole goods equipment and attachments for Dobbs Equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all new machine and attachment ordering, according to required specifications
  • Ensure attachment stocking levels are accurate and maintained
  • Responsible for accurate daily inventory reporting  
  • Oversee and maintain accurate and timely on hold process
  • Oversee all equipment and attachment inventory audits
  • Ensure proper rental check IN/OUT procedures are being followed at the branch level
  • Review rental, demo, loaner and hold requests for equipment as needed to facilitate the best use of company inventory/rental fleet equipment 
  • Oversight of transport costs and coordination of equipment as needed
  • Assists with billing responsibilities as needed.
  • Manage to aged inventory metrics by category
  • Identify and accelerates the sale of aged inventory
  • Oversee machine and attachment depreciation.
  • Prepares daily queries and financial reports
  • Assists the VP Sales Operations in specified duties in their absence. 

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Management experience
  • Industry/Dealership experience
  • Inventory/Rental/Sales experience
  • Customer Service experience
  • John Deere experience is preferred 

Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma with previous experience in rental fleet management or related experience required. College degree is preferred. 
  • Management, organization and communication skills must be highly developed.  
  • The abilities to multi-task and prioritize are paramount. 
  • Computer skills need to be broad based.  
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools a must.

Language Skills 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.

Reasoning Ability 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
